It’s all dead
Tuesday, March 1st, 2011I was going through a “funk” before we went on vacation. As we were coming home, I was looking at all the “dead” trees, grass, plants along the road. God spoke in my heart and said, “What do you see?” I answered, “It’s dead, all dead.” But then this image went through my head and I could SEE inside the trees. In the trees was “life” that was not visible on the outside.
God was saying, “That’s my Word at work. You can’t see results of my Word at work, (and the enemy of course will have you focus on what doesn’t seem to be happening) but My Word is living and powerful and IT IS WORKING. At the right time, in due season, you WILL see what my Word has been doing.”(First the bud then the leaf then the fruit).
I don’t know what your ‘impossibilities’ are today, but I know the Word of God does not return to Him void (empty of praise, of no value, worthless). God’s Word IS working in you and in your circumstances. We have a declaration in our Ladies Sunday School Class that goes like this:
GOD IS ALIVE! JESUS IS LORD! AND THE WORD IS WORKING IN ME!
Don’t look at the dead or what seems to be dead. The devil wants you to think that God’s Word has failed you. Well, guess what? THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!! Who’s word are you going to believe? Have faith in God, in the Life. Are you willing to say, “no matter what happens God, I will still praise you”. If so, start now.
Lord, no matter what happens, this is in your hands. My heart aches and I am broken, but You God, heal my brokenness. You are the healing balm I need. Lord, I lay everything at the foot of the cross and I will praise You because You are watching over Your Word to perform it. I don’t have to watch over Your Word; that’s not my job. I am to speak Your Word only. Then I trust Your living and powerful Word to accomplish what YOU said it would do. I have faith in YOU! I’m taking my eyes off the things that dis my courage (discourage) and I lift my eyes unto the hills because that is where my help comes from. My help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth.
Then get on with your day. When you sense discouragement, say it again and again and again until it becomes you and your children will see how you handle yourself under pressure not just in victory. Keep your head and your hands up. Have a “perpetual victory parade” today and know that God is for you. And if God is for you, who can be against you?! God ALWAYS causes His children to TRIUMPH!
