This afternoon I finished the 2011 Wesleyan Women book selection. Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. I picked it up at the last meeting. I found it delightful and inspiring.
It is the story of two men who come from completely different backgrounds. Could not be farther from each other really. The first is an affluent white man. The second an illiterate homeless black man. It is intriguing to read about the challenges each face and the true friendship which develops between these two men. It makes you think about those people you might pass every day on the street with out giving a second glance or even a thought. It shows the power of God, and the prayers of His people to bring about change in the world around us.
This is my own personal view of the book. I am interested to hear others views as well. I debated about whether the entry was more appropriate for the Library blog or this one. In the end I choose this one as it is the current book selection for the Wesleyan Women. Once it has made its rounds through the women it will be added to the Church Library. I encourage you to take the time to read it.
