new Bible Study

The Desperate Housewives will be beginning a new study on Monday, Jan 23.  We meet at the Church downstairs near the nursery.

We will be studying The Five Love Languages of Children.  Although these same principles could be applied to any relationship.  Gary Chapman has written several books on the same subject.  I have already taken part in the original Five Love Languages as a Bible Study twice, first as a ladies study while we were living in Virginia and then as a couples study here at Kirkville.

We meet from 9:30 am -11:30 am.  The first part of our Study time is to be devoted to sharing from our own devotional time and prayer.  The 2nd part will focus on the book The five Love Languages of Children.

If you are interested I’d like to invite you to join us. :)

Carols of Christmas

The Ladies luncheon was glorious.  The tables were beautifully arrayed with all manor of Christmas decor, each representing a particular Christmas Carol.  A wonderful time of  fellowship, joyous sound of the season and remembering what Christmas is all about in the first place.

The birthday of two precious little girls was celebrated, who happen to have Christmas time birthdays.

Check out the photo album on the side bar for a few pictures from this and other ladies events!  If you request to become a member you can also add your own pictures from the events.  It would be a blessing to see other ladies’ photos as well! :D

glorious

Ladies Retreat was wonderful! It fulfilled my expectations and more.  It was a wonderful time away, to commune with God, as well as bunches of other Ladies. :)   Our speaker, Kim Fowler was great.  She spoke to our hearts, encouraging and challenging us.   Saturday night all the Kirkville Ladies gathered in the bunkhouse for a time of fellowship.

A group shot of all the Kirkville Ladies

You can view more photos if you click on the photo album link on the side bar.  If you were a Kirkville Lady at retreat and have your own pics to contribute you can do so by requesting membership to the photogroup.  Then you should be able to add you pictures to the group.  Or you can get a CD of your pictures or your actual camera to me and I can add them for you. ;)

Mark your calendars, next years Retreat is sure to be spectacular as well.  If you have yet to go, this is your time!! :D

Food for Thought

There were 8 ladies blessed by the Food for Thought time Saturday morning.  We all learned new things related to stocking our pantries and preparing 30 minute meals from these items. Judy and Pat prepared 2 delicious meals in…guess what, less than 30min.  The Scriptures were awesome.  We were reminded of the story of Martha and Mary.  Is our first priority  sitting at Jesus feet listening to His Words or in serving food to others?  Read the Word:  Luke 10:38-42, and   John11:1-6, and 17-33, then John 12:1-8.  We talked about these sisters, and how they chose to praise the Lord, relationships in a family of God, how Jesus loved them all, and how He used these circumstances to point others to Believe in the Son of God.  Praise the Lord, Oh my soul, let all that is within me praise your Holy Name.   Donna
